Abstract This paper explores the possibility of producing an alternative approach to estimate imports of goods at constant prices in case of Albania in the absence of imported prices indices. The objective is to produce specific unit values indices at the product level. Unit values indices are frequently used for deflating imports and exports of goods. In this situation it is very important to be estimated in a very detailed level in the way to show as better as possible the effect of prices. In this paper it will be shown the use of this approach for the estimation of imports of goods in constant prices in Albania. The estimations are done for the period 2009-2011, so the imports in constant prices with this method will be given for years 2010-2011 and will be compared with the old results.
